So you’ve dipped your toe in the CBD pool, and you’re ready to jump in—cooking CBD-infused meals is a great way to do it! Not only is it a great opportunity to try some new recipes, you get the benefits of CBD at the same time. If you’ve never cooked an infused meal before, don’t be intimidated. It’s probably easier than you think, and you can get as simple or complicated with your recipe as you want.

All you need to get started are the ingredients for your chosen recipe and CBD oil. That’s it! You can make your own CBD oil from hemp flower by decarboxylating it, or simply use a pre-made CBD isolate tincture or oil.

From there, determine your dosage (start small and work your way up next time if you didn’t feel any effects), and get to stirring! Once you have your oil made, you don’t need to choose a recipe that requires heat. In fact, it’s better if you incorporate the CBD oil into a part of the recipe that won’t be heated. If you are cooking the CBD mixture, make sure you keep the temperature below 320 degrees Fahrenheit. The CBD effects could actually burn off if your mixture gets overheated.

Additionally, you’ll want to choose a recipe that includes healthy fats like olive oil. Incorporating fats in your CBD concoction will increase the effects. Cannabinoids are drawn to fats, so if you have healthy fats in your meal, you’re more likely to be feeling it.

Cooking with CBD is a fun and healthy way of easing pain, reducing inflammation, calming your body and more. Especially if you prefer to ingest rather than smoke or vape, try infusing your favorite meals or desserts with CBD. Experiment with dosage, heat and recipes until you find your staple CBD meal!
